Unlink Google Play pricing template

info

Proceed only if you have chosen the SDK-less integration.

Having your IAP unlinked from Pricing Templates is a requirement to launch wappier pricing. While the in-scope (to be optimized) IAPs have Pricing Templates linked to them, wappier will not be able to change the prices to the optimal ones.

There are two ways that you can remove the Pricing Templates from the required IAPs.

Removing the pricing templates manually

  • Sign in to Google Play console

  • Click on Setup on the bottom left of the page.

  • In the list that appears click on Pricing templates.

  • Under Pricing templates, you will be able to see all the templates available for the app and if they have any Linked in-app products. Click on the View pricing template on the right.

  • Finally, you will see a list of products linked to the pricing template you chose. Click on Unlink next to a product to remove it from the pricing template.

Removing the pricing templates automatically

The wappier platform can import all required IAP information after the app is setup and regenerate a .csv file which will be required to be uploaded directly to the Google Play Developer Console. This file contains all the in-app products of the game with the current price points for all countries instead of the linked template IDs.

After uploading to Google Play, all templates will be unlinked from the in-app products while retaining their current prices.

note

The wappier platform is able to unlink specific in-app products which should be the ones that we’ll be adjusting prices for. The rest of the products can retain their current status.

① Setting up the app on the wappier Platform

Provide us the Google Service Key of your application.

② Preparing your SKUs to be unlinked

You need to make sure that all the in-scope products (the ones we are targeting with price changes) have pricing templates linked to them. The reason for this check is to ensure that these products will have prices in each country that the app is available in and that their default or country-specific prices do not violate Google’s upper and lower pricing thresholds.

③ Export of current in-app products from Google Developer Console

tip

This step is optional but recommended to be followed as a backup/safeguard.

Export a .csv file with all the in-app products before attempting to unlink the pricing templates, by clicking the Export button.

④ Importing the .CSV on Google Developer Console

Our support team will provide you with the new .csv file which is generated by our platform. The only step that remains, is importing it on the Google Play Developer Console by clicking on Import button under Application > Products -> In-app products.

You’re all set! All the pricing templates have been unlinked from the in-app products without any change in the price points of each country!
