API

Application programming interface: a set of clearly defined methods of communication among various components.

ARPDAU (daily)

Average Revenue Per Daily Active User: metric used to estimate the amount of revenue generated by a single user on any given day.

ARPU, monthly (ARPMAU)

Average Revenue Per (Monthly) Active User: metric used to estimate the amount of revenue generated by a single user over a month. Formula: Monthly Revenue / number of Monthly Active Users.

ARPPU, monthly

Average Revenue Per Paying User in a month: metric used to estimate the amount of revenue generated by a paying user over a month. Formula: Monthly Revenue / number of Paying Users observed in same month.

D

DAU

Daily Active Users: The number of distinct active users who use the game / app on a given day.

F

F2B conversion rate

Free-to-Bill: The number of paying users expressed as a percentage of total users in a period of time.

I

IAP

An In-App Purchase is an exchange of real money for a virtual good via an application, typically a mobile app running on a smartphone or other mobile device.

K

KPI

A Key Performance Indicator is a defined metric used for performance measurement, one that evaluates the success of a particular activity (such as an app, feature, or products.

L

LTV

Lifetime value is the prediction of the total revenue attributed to the entire future relationship with a user.

M

MAU

Monthly Active Users: The number of distinct active users who use the game / app on a given month.

P

Payers / Paying Users

The number of distinct users that have executed a transaction in a period of time.

R

Revenue (IAP)

Total revenue generated in a period of time via in-app purchases (excludes ad-based revenue).

S

SDK

Software Development Kit: A set of tools, libraries, relevant documentation, code samples, processes, and guides that allow developers to create software applications on a specific platform.

SKU

Stock-keeping unit: a unique identification number that defines an item at the identifiable inventory level.

T

Transactions

Number of total transactions in a period of time, considering in-app purchases and subscriptions.

Transactions / Payer

The average number of transactions per paying user in a period of time.
